Keep Your Paper Trail

Posted by MHOAI Staff on January 26, 2001 in Notices | 73 Views

Don’t forget to keep anything you receive on paper from your landlord. We hear complaints from many about violations, but residents do not keep the notices or bills which could become your proof in any actions involving the landlord or management.

  • If you choose to sign a lease, keep a copy of each one you sign.
  • If you write a letter, save a copy for yourself.

If any type of legal action is required, a lawyer will want a paper trail. If you don’t have it in writing, keep a log of the date, time, and what was said.

Government officials ask MHOAI for a paper trail when we approach them about our issues. You can help us help you by keeping these papers.
