MHOAI

Thanks to Fund Raiser Organizers

Tom Johnson’s spirit was definitely with us says Pat Fogerty Chairperson of the first annual MHOAI Fund Raiser held on a perfect day for golf at Bon Vivant in Bourbonnais.

Mr. Johnson, Monee Trustee, resident of Golf Vista and fund raiser committee member passed away unexpectedly and will be sorely missed in the community.

Each and every committee meeting brought more surprises as the sponsorships began to arrive. Before the books were closed, over 150 sponsors at all levels, from corporations to individual donors began to pour in and made this goal exceed all expectations.

The goal of signing up 50 golfers looked like a challenge until August and then the committee found they had to limit the field to 96 entries. The same with raffle books. Jim Dobrez representing Maple Brook homeowners, Matteson IL, donated $500.00 towards a raffle and again the number of books sold exceeded expectations.

MHOAI Board member Wendell Phillips representing Oak Ridge Manteno IL made all arrangements for the golf tournament and BBQ dinner to follow.

However, it was the total energy of Pat’s committee largely made up of avid golfers from Golf Vista that ensured the success of this event.

Terry Nelson President of MHOAI could not hold back her emotions when handed a check that will allow her to continue the grass roots effort to secure legislative support for those living in a manufactured home community in Illinois.
