M.H.O.A.I.

MOBILE HOME OWNERS ASSOCIATION OF ILLINOIS

CHARTER #18684

M.H.O.A.I. would like to introduce you to our organization. Manufactured home communities are becoming more appealing to many people each year. Many communities are growing larger and new locations are getting started. Our organization has over 60 manufactured home communities with members in the state of Illinois, and we are growing fast.

Our services include helping your community form a home owner's association to open lines of communication with the owner and management work force, and help communities foster a sense of unity among themselves. M.H.O.A.I. has a newsletter, website and can help direct you to the correct avenues for your concerns. We are listed with other organizations such as Path Crisis Center. We look forward to being able to help you with any questions you may have.

M.H.O.A.I. is a non-profit, state-wide organization with goals that include educating mobile home owners of their rights, help get laws passed that are needed to protect mobile home owners, and to help enforce existing laws. Our goals include improving and maintaining the lifestyle we have chosen. We are the only state-wide organization that represents you in Springfield, at local zoning hearings, and to your elected officials.

We are dependent upon the dedication of volunteers who serve on our boards and committees, however we still have costs and must also rely on membership dues. M.H.O.A.I. has directors located throughout the state of Illinois.

We work with organizations that include AARP (on both state and federal bills), the Illinois Department of Public Health, and the office of the Illinois Attorney General. If you want officials to listen, you must make them aware you are here. If you want updated and stronger laws passed, along with better enforcement of the laws, all mobile/manufactured home owners must organize and unite. This is what will get the changes that are needed both locally and state-wide.

If you are lucky enough to live in a community that is content locally you still need to be aware of what laws are, or are not, being passed that would affect your chosen lifestyle. The more home owners involved, the louder your voice will be, both locally and in Springfield. It is not uncommon for Senators and state Representatives to ask us how many members we have in their district. Many legislators also receive our newsletter and want to know how many of our members live in their area that have concerns involving their chosen lifestyle. Help us help you.

Our dues are $15.00 per household, per year. For this small cost, you have representation in Springfield, receive a newsletter, and have an organization that will help you within your own community. Remember, the landlords of Illinois have people in Springfield looking out for their best interests, you as a resident also need the same level of representation.

Thank you for your time. If you have any questions please feel free to call Terry Nelson, President, at (847) 296-5762, or use the Contact Form on this website.
