Annual MHOAI trip to Springfield
Wednesday April 16th

January 11, 2008

The Annual MHOAI trip to Springfield will take place this year on Wednesday, April 16. On this day homeowners throughout the state of Illinois will join together at our state capitol in Springfield. It will be on this day homeowners can meet with their legislators and help influence the decision-making process that affects our back doors and communities. You can add your voice to decision making on future laws that will protect us and by joining together we will show legislators we are organized, numerous and involved. This day will show we are watching and will be voting on Election Days. Legislators will be able to see our faces and hear our issues regarding the need for laws that will bring a fair balance between the homeowner and landlord. Illinois needs new laws to keep up with the changes in our housing market.

Also, this is a great date for our communities since it's tied into critical third reading dates in Springfield. MHOAI members --please standby as 2008 Legislation begins to appear both for and against our interests. Terry Nelson has been to a number of meetings and will work to introduce Bills concerning Residential Owned Communities (ROC's), Relocation, Enforcement, Ombudsman and more.

More information about this important day will be forthcoming. The MHOAI Board reminds our members , family and friends to PLEASE vote in the upcoming Primary and to support legislators that have been sponsors of legislation to improve our form of home ownership in Illinois. Some will be facing very tough election battles.
