A chapter of the Mobile Home Owners Association of Illinois has been organized at Sandwich's Wildwood community.
Gene Johnson, 311 Mallard Lane, is the president, and Gregory Ainsworth, 313 Mallard Lane, is the vice president.
MHOAI has 60 member communities of manufactured homes statewide.
The goals of the non-profit organization include educating mobile home owners of their rights, assisting in the passage of laws to protect home owners and help in enforcing existing laws. The associations can open lines of communication with owners and managers and foster a sense of unity.
Membership includes newsletters, alerts about when to call elected officials, notification about laws and developments that affect mobile home owners and representation in Springfield.
In Wildwood Community North and South, a Neighborhood Watch Program is being formed for the safety of residents.
